  • From inside my head, I’ve always thought that my voice most closely resembled Jars of Clay’s lead singer, Dan Haseltine.

However, the more I listen to a few of the recordings I have, the more I start to think that my voice does in fact possess a reedier quality- as my voice teacher Andrea puts it.  That makes me lean toward thinking it sounds closer to Shane Barnard of Shane&Shane fame.  He also happens to be engaged to Bethany Dillon, another Christian recording artist.

    Anyhow, after hearing some of the recordings… I must say…. must… continue… voice… lessons…. ugh. ><.

  • :) You are veryvery lucky to listen to recordings of yourself and be fairly objective about how you sound. Whenever I hear myself on any recording, my instant thought is “Ugh, dying rat squeaks….” even when I don’t know it’s me singing. :( It’s the saddest thing~

Also, singing a bit like Shane Barnard can’t be a bad thing. I <3 Shane&Shane~ Yay dual guitar wielding!!

  • PS – the voice lessons are paying off :) Keep at it!!

  • shane barnard is married to bethany dillon!?  oh dear.  i did not like her cd very much.

  • haha.

it’s ok, i was playing back an answering machine message and i realized that sound like i’m 5.  ALL THE TIME.  not just while singing.

  • ahhahahaha!
