Came home, ate Spaghetti Factory, and studied more.

Car was brought into Stroyer Bros. yesterday.

Still stuck with Taurus, but it’s rear wheel drive, so it’s kind of interesting.

3 weeks, they estimate.

Initial adjuster’s estimate is 4,000+ but the car will not be totaled. I guesstimated the damage pretty darn good.well.

8 cars pulled over on the side of the road with various manglement, a REALLY stupid lifted truck owner who didn’t bother to torque down his wheels the last time he changed his tires, 8 tow trucks, and multiple CHP squad cars and bikes.  The carnage ended when a person in a truck 1/4 mile behind me managed to run over the wheel and tire combo, and *dragged* it under his truck off the freeway, separating the tire FROM the wheel in the process?!! Happened on Pomerado exit, 15NB, about 9pm Saturday night.

So that’s what an 80mph collision with a random rolling wheel/tire on the freeway looks like.  For those who can pick out the details, I anticipate the bumper costing 700 w/ paint, the subframe to be another 500, the headlight and frame to be 500, the foglight housing to be 200, the hood close to 1000, fender to be 500, my leaking power steering up to 500, that little cylinder you see is my AC drier, if I need AC work that can easily be 1000+.  Oh and I can’t open my driver side door, nor pop my hood. If you look carefully you can see the part of the frame that usually
protects the fender well has been pushed sideways into the side of the
headlight housing. In total that’s quite possibly up to 4000.00, so I believe we’re calling insurance on this one. 

I was towed back to my place on Saturday night, and am having my car towed to the inspection facility to get assessed, then off to probably Stroyer Bros. in Escondido to be repaired.  I’m gettin a 15 dollar a day rental, but I’m upgrading to a Pontiac G6 cuz it’s fun to floor that thing everywhere, I remember it from Maui, it’s the only zippy car Enterprise has.  Unless of course you’re lucky enough to book the Lotus Elise.  But they didn’t have any.

Anyway, if I’m lucky, the car is done in a week and a half I think.  Oh and the SE-R is with my lil bro.  He floors it everywhere in SLO and gets about 12-15mpg doing so. Hahah.

On a side funny note, the motorcycle CHP guy said. Hey. is that an intercooler? I’m like. Uhhhh.  It looks like an intercooler? (trying to avoid guilt).  Then he says, so did you add an aftermarket turbo kit?  I was like. Uhhhh.  He says how much do those cost now?  I said ummmmmmm they cost 2-3k?   I was like, oh do you drive a Honda, he says, oh I just have a little hatchback.

HAHAHAHAHA.
